We had a great Thanksgiving this year. Because we our building our new home in Hurricane we needed to come down and check on the house and make some decisions. So, we enjoyed a small family Thanksgiving. Even though  being with extended family is fun sometimes these small family Thanksgiving are the best!!

Last Saturday, a ward member died in a tragic car accident and his wife was in critical condition. They have four children so, this year I have been thinking about family and how blessed we are to have healthy children and such a great family we have and how I cannot take it for granted.

We had a wonderful feast. Timo makes turkey like no other. Emili helped us cook this year and pumpkin pie and pecan pie ended the meal.

Other than that it was a lazy day. We walked over to our new home and we had at least three different families come over to go through our house. I still feel a little uncomfortable when people go through and we tell them its a vacation home but I will get over it. I absolutely love it and I cannot wait for all the memories we will be making there.

Halloween

The kids had a lot of fun this year. I wasn't to prepared for Halloween this year so we didn't do much for it. Abbi and Adam went trick or treating with friends. Emili went to a couple of parties with friends and Tylers friends bailed on him so he stayed home and tried to scare trick or treaters. They all had fun going to Timo's office and got tons of candy!! The weather was amazingly warm so it was a fun night to go out. We also got a record amount of kids coming to our house about 100 cute kids. So, all was good but next year its going to be a bigger deal. I am already planning the night. Cannot WAIT!!

Party POOPER!!!! + Thriller = Super Fun Night!!!

UEA in St. George was the best weekend ever. For some reason one night we decided to watch "Father of the Bride Part2". We couldn't stop laughing. Especially the seen when Franc sang party pooper!!! We just could not get it out of brain. We sang it all the time and laughed and laughed. So, what does this have anything to do with Thriller, well nothing but after We couldn't stop singing it.

Timo thinks its really funny to come as close as possible to running out of gas without ever running out so when we left Hurricane to go to St. George and Timo got the fifth warning signal I knew we were in for a night and by the way, I have never ever in my whole life ever got car sick but there is something so wrong about Timo's truck, I get sick every time I drive in that thing. I need to sit in the back with the window open so I don't get to sick its weird.

So, we made it to the Tuachan with only two more warnings of low fuel, YEAH, we did make it. Last year I took Emili and her friends to see Thriller and it was good so this year I brought the whole family wanting it or not they all came.I love the dancing, they are amazing, and its kind of creepy which is a great way to start Halloween. We got to the show and we found Emili's friend Talise and her family. Emili and Talise quickly got some pictures with Zombies.

Thriller is always so much fun and I think its now a Jones family Halloween tradition!

After the show the GPS took us on quite a ride trying to find the nearest gas station but eventually we found one with actually half a gallon to go before empty. We had a lot of fun at this gas station. We took tons of picture that I will spare the world of seeing because it was mostly us girls in the back seat trying to keep our eyes open while having the flash go off so close to our faces. This lady actually commented on what a happy family we were.

The kids, despite Timo telling them we were not getting treats, begged and pleaded and begged and pleaded  for a treat at McDonald's that was across the street from the gas station. He finally gave in.

Even before I watched that show "Super Size It" I would rather die than go to a McDonald's...

but to prove I was not a PARTY POOPER I did order a lemon/ raspberry slushy thing.

It was OK and I did eat 1fry.

Yesterday my St. George neighbor posted this picture of our new house on her facebook. She thought it was the funniest thing she had ever seen. I thought this must be a joke and I tried to call Timo about it but he was busy in meetings. Later that day Timo sends me the same picture on my phone. I called him and he said how do you like our new pinacle.I said "our what???!!!" He told me he and the designer and builder spent hours trying to figure out what should go above the door and that is what they come up with. He assured me that once it was done it would be amazing. He told me how it was going to be built out and the top would have copper on it. I just got madder and madder the more he talked about it.I got off the phone just mad. Tyler got the same text and he was dying about how bad it looked.

Emili had the same reaction. I was so mad that I no longer wanted to have anything to do with it. Adam kept going on and on about how ugly it was and he wasn't very tactful!! He just kept saying it was just so ugly. I felt kind of bad because I still thought Timo put a lot of time into that design but I still wanted it gone. Finally just before scripture study I said "are you serious about that thing above the door" and once again he was trying to tell me what it was going to be like and all of us couldn't believe what we were hearing until Timo's story got to be so bad and unbelievable that we realized he was just kidding. The framers just found a peice of wood and thought it would be a funny joke. UGH.....NOT FUNNY!!!

Soooo Busy and Soooo Crazy!!!

Life has been so busy lately, I always want it to slow down and yet I just keep adding more and more to my life. I keep saying I want my normal life back and then I do something to make my life busy again. In August we decided to party!! We planned a High Council/Stake Presidency party. It was tons of fun but I think I was too stressed to actually to enjoy it. I also planned a pack meeting at my house and a primary teacher appreciation party.

September I declared it NO party month!!! I needed to get my life back. Well,for the most part that has been what I have been doing but we did have a small party in St. George. We have some friends who have a condo there so they were down in St. George over Labor Day and so we had them over for a BBQ and wave running. Wave running is super fun so it wasn't very stressful just fun.

School started!!! YEEPEEEEEEE, actally I miss the fun we had in the summer and I miss the ability to take off when we want to but I can clean without cleaning around anyone. Emili is in high school and that freaks me out! She seems to be loving it, so, thats good.

Tyler is in eighth grade. A new Jr. high. Some new adjustments, they only use computers, so no books and very little paper. I don't mind the computers because Tyler is a genius at computers but in away thats bad because he's on facebook all day. We have also had issues with the bus since we are not far enough aways for bus service. We had a great carpool going until the Principal gave out bus passes to some of this kids.(lotery System) So, everyone on our street got a pass but Tyler and Alyssa. So, I had to beg the principal for a pass but I easily got one. WOOT WOOT!!! Tyler is getting very tall and all the girls are starting to really notice him and thats weird. I have girls showing up at our front door, with plastic bags over their heads dancing!! Wow, weird!! but also fun, he loves it.

Abbi, is in fifth grade.

Adam is in fourth grade. They love their classes so all is good. Lots of homework to keep up with. Especially Adam, he is the worse about getting his homework in and actually doing it. I literally need him to bring me his homework, I sign it so I actually see it and then I must watch him to put it in his back pack. Why is it so hard!! Ohwell, he will graduate in ten years and then he's on his own. At least he's smart and he gets everything he learns and is well advanced in his class so, thats good.

So, instead of organizing parties, I started canning. Stewed tomatoes, salsa and spaghetti sauce. I think I will be doing more next week. I should do peaches but we will see. I actually love canning but the mess yukkkk!! I do love looking at the end results and in the winter I love using it so I cannot complain to much.

With such a fun and almost perfect vacation home in St. George that it might come to a suprise that we will be selling it and now we are building thee perfect vacation home in Sunny St. George or actually Hurricane Utah.

We spent July, August and first of September having meetings with a architech, builders and designers to create the most perfect vaction home. I think we did a great job. Such a great job that this house just couldn't be just a home but it must be a Parade home!! Oh man, how did we get into this. This is the very first house Timo and I have built a home from the bottom up and it has been fun for the most part. The house has too be completely finished by Feb 17th so we have been making tons of decisions. We need to have all decisions made by November 1st and then we just sit back and wait for it to be done. Its funny because you just say Parade home in St. George and everyone is more than willing to give you discounts and they just get excited about the whole project. It does save tons of money because everyone wants the free advertisement. We actually had a hard time coming to grips with the idea of building a new house because we love our casita so much. We figured out what we don't like and that is at 5:00 pm until the sun goes down, the sun just beats down on our patio so its hard to have a BBQ outside, also the second story gets very hot in the summer but other than that we couldn't find anything wrong with it. Is that a good enough reason to build a new one, not really. We thought that if we want to do it now will be the best time since people are still hungry for work, also we can make it absolutley what we want. So we found a great lot about one block away from our house now. It face different so we won't have the sun. It also has the most amazing views that won't be built around it so it will always be beautiful. Well, I am very excited about it.

Lately Timo has been spending a lot of time in St. George making sure the framing is done well and the main things that needs to be done right so we don't need to change anything.

Well, I am sure I will find more stuff to keep us super busy but its all good....

What A Week!!

This has been a very fun, happy and yet sad week. Tyler left for scout camp last Saturday July 9th and then on Monday Emili went to Lake Powell with a friend. I was very happy that my kids go and have a lot of fun with friends and ward members but I sure missed them. Tyler was gone on Sunday and they had the Elders pass the sacrament. It was weird not having him there. All Saturday and Sunday just felt so odd like someone was missing. Then on Monday Emili left...It really felt strange.

We thought we would take advantage of having less kids around. On Tuesday I thought I would take Abbi and Adam to Boondocks for a little arcade fun. Well, I filled their card and they took off. So, coin dozer was for me. I played coin dozer for a long time even hitting a jack pot. I went through my money faster than the kids so I filled up my card and kept playing. The tickets just flew out. It was so much fun. At the end of three hours I had over 2000 tickets. Adam hit a jackpot on one of his games and Abbi had won a lot also so it was a very successful day at Boondocks!!! I am very addicted to that game.

Wednesday was dentist day. I had an appointment to get my teeth cleaned but a couple of weeks ago I broke my back tooth so I had to go in twice for crown prep. Not fun but then I came home and we took a ride up to Marsh Lake to see what it was like up there. I always love that drive so it was fun!! Shortly after we got there it started to rain and it down poured but that is always part of the fun. The lake was way full and we have never seen that river so full. So, it was fun. We saw a double rainbow on the way home and I have never seen a rainbow were the colors were so vibrant. Not only that but the double rainbow was mirror image of each other. It was neat.

Thursday we finished our Harry Potter marathon we had all week. We skipped a few days so we needed to watch three movies that night to be all caught up so we could see the last one on Friday morning. We were so glad we did so we would be already to see the final Harry Potter. We bought lots of treats and just marathoned it.

Friday morning we got up and went to see the final movie. I haven't been a huge Harry Potter fan because I find them a little confusing but I think they are very good but this Harry Potter was by far my favorite. I loved every minute of it and yes it made me cry in parts. Now I want to watch them all again!! I am now a huge fan. I think an all day marathon is in my future but I need to wait for the last one to come out on blue ray.

Today was a another happy day because Tyler came home. I just could not believe how much I missed him. He had tons of fun. He said his waling stick chose him. He found a big stick and he needed to cut it. They couldn't break it so they scored it. Then someone jumped on it and the stick went flying and landed in Tyler's hands. Amazing!!!! but he forgot it and left it at the camp. Wouldn't it be weird if tomorrow he wakes up and its in his room. ha ha Just kidding.

Sunday Emili comes home and our family will be together again!!!! Cannot wait!!!

More Summer Fun

This is the summer of Jones Family Fun and so a trip to St.George was a must. We always have fun there but this time we had a couple of wave runners to make it it funnier. Sandhollow is only a mile away from our house so we knew we take advantage of the 80 degree water. Also, when its 105 degrees outside its the only way to keep cool. We set up a little cabana on the beach and with our cold drinks and chairs we were set. The kids loved it!!! Our wave runners fit 3 people at a time and also can pull a tube. We laughed and laughed and Timo not only lost one pair of prescription sunglasses in the dam but he lost two pairs. Timo wasn't to happy about it but it made for a good laugh. We all got a wonderful sunburn basically because I am anti sunscreen so I felt bad when they complained about their burns but honestly I think they are wimpy because it wasn't that bad. I've seen worse. They all love their tans now!! haha No pain no gain.

We also enjoyed the 4th of July in St. George. A neighbor invited us over to watch fireworks. It was a lot of fun. Hurricane city passed a law the Wednesday before outlawing fireworks that are not done within certain place. It was funny while we were doing it the ward was coming around to pick up the flags and who was in charge of it but the chief of police. He told them of the law and then left. too, funny.

Disney Cruise 2

Our 4th stop was Rome Italy. This was a ten hour adventure. I wish we had a couple of days but in that ten hours I learned a lot. We first went to the Colosseum. We had a very good guide and she knew a lot about everything. She explained how the first gladiators started out as helpers of important leaders and when these leaders died there assistance needed to die also so they could help them in the after life. After awhile it became a sport. Gladiators went to school for years to learn to become gladiators and then they would only fight maybe five or six times in there life time because it would take so long to heal after a fight that it made it so they couldn't fight much. A lot of the times the emperors didn't like them so they would give the signal and the gladiator was killed. It was a interesting way to live. After the Colosseum we went to the Trevi Fountain. We through our coins into it so we can wish ourselves back. A very pretty fountain. After that we walked to a hotel and had lunch. It was some pasta dish and it was good!! It was funny because they had Wine on the tables and we were the only ones not drinking. Oh well, sparkling water is good. After lunch we went to the Vatican. I had no idea that it was a country. The smallest country in the world. It even has its own military. We went to the museum, and the Sistine Chapel. Absolutely beautiful!!!! We also we to St. Peter's Basilica. That was amazing also. I wish we had more time there because I felt very rushed there. I loved Rome and someday I would love to go there again.

The next day we went to Pisa!!! and of course we went to the leaning tower of Pisa. Not only did we go and see it but we went to the top!!! That was an event.....No one said I would need to train for a marathon before I attempt walking up 294 marble steps, going around and round as you lean to the side. It didn't take long but by the time we got up there I thought I would either hurl or faint. I didn't do either one but wanted to. It was just a few years ago when they put the guard rails up and I don't know how anyone could ever climbed it without falling off. One of the fun facts about the tower is that its a bell tower and when they were first building it, when they got to a about the fourth floor they realized it was leaning and stopped. About a hundred years later they started building again and tried to fix it. So, if you look at it in a certain angle it looks like a banana. There is also a cathedral and a baptistery on the grounds. The cathedral is also sinking so its funny. Its a beautiful place. I really liked it there.

The sixth stop was Corsica France. Another beautiful place. We didn't take an excursion there but we did decide to get off the boat and go to the beach. The beach was close to the port so we walked over there. We got there and had lots of fun. The water was cold but the kids didn't mind. The boys found jelly fish on the beach. We were there for about two hours and then it happened...We saw our first topless lady. It was gross, this lady was old, and her skin was like leather and really you couldn't tell she was a woman except one thing and that was her huge boobs hanging off the side of her chest. Its burned into my mind and believe me I want it out!!! Down the beach aways was another topless, this one younger and perkier. Having a thirteen year old boy it was time to leave. We walked around and found out that Corsica is were Napoleon was born. We found a real french bakery and we bought some very yummy cookies and bread. It was a beautiful place.

The next day we stopped at Vilafrance. Wow!!! the most beautiful place in the world. We didn't do an excursion but we did go to shore. We looked around and found a store that sold the prettiest jewelry ever. It was so much fun. We thought we would go to the beach again but we didn't get one foot into the beach area before we had to turn around. A lot of topless girlies there. We stopped at a outside cafe and we wanted to try a real french crepe. I couldn't read french so I ordered one with apples. Not my first choice but it was good Tyler had one with bananas and the other kids got one with Nutella. Timo got a savory crepe and it was so incredibly good. The crepe itself had cheese in it. Inside had a fried egg, meats and cheese. It was amazing.

The next day was just a relaxing day on the ship. I loved being on the Cruise ship. Disney had so much fun things to do and their plays were super fun. I really enjoyed every minute of it and then it was over. We got off the boat and we went straight to the airport and then a nine hour flight with no tv working. Such a long flight, then we got to JFK and thats when security almost got Adam. It was amazing how some security guards like to feel his power by going after a eight year old boy. I understand why they are there but Adam. Oh well, another four hours on a plane and then we were home!!! Not a bad way to spend 10 days.

Disney Cruise Part 1

This has been declared the summer of Jones family fun and so we started it by going on a Disney cruise to the Mediterranean.

School let out on June 3rd and June 5th we were off. We left early Sunday morning. Barcelona, Spain was our first destination. We arrived early Monday morning and our hotel check in wasn't until 2:00 pm. We were all so tired but we needed to stay awake. Our goal was at least 7:00 pm. First thing we noticed was that everyone and their dog smoked. Also, no one followed any traffic rules. It was crazy!!! We walked around for awhile but since we were so tired that we decided to jump on a tourist bus and ride around the city. It was so fun. The problem was a few minutes into it the kids fell asleep. They missed seeing Columbus statue, were the Olympic games were held, some castles, an amazing looking mall, were Barcelona's soccer team plays and some amazing buildings. We got off the bus right at 2:00 so we went to our hotel room and thought we would take a nap. All of us fell right to sleep. We woke up at 10:00 pm Barcelona time and ate dinner and then back tot he hotel for more sleep. The next day we got up and walked around. We saw a few things that made us realize we were not in our bubble anymore. We then ate at Hard Rock Cafe. That was fun, it was my only hope for a Mt. Dew because they sold pepsi but nope. After, we got on the buses again and went on a different tour. Once again the kids fell asleep. This tour was by the beaches and all the cool architectures there.

The next morning was the day we got on the ship. As we drove up to the Ship, the kids couldn't believe how big it was. Their eyes were way big!!! We finally got onto the boat and it was amazing. We went to our room and then went and found food. The first night we spent thinking we had to hurry and do everything.

The next day we were out to sea all day so we hung out on the ship and relaxed.

Our first stop was Malta!! What a pretty island. Everything was nice and clean. They plant flowers everywhere. We decided to swim with dolphins since we thought this is something we normally wouldn't do. Me and the kids got ready while Timo decided to be the camera man. We changed into our wet suites and then went to the pools were the dolphins played. I couldn't believe what they felt like. It was kind of like rubber. We got to feed them and they pushed us around a little. It was pretty cool!!! After we got to see a sea lion show and then we got to see the dolphins show off. That night on the ship Timo and I got a couples massage while Adam went dancing. Yes, dancing!!! There was a dance party and he went by himself and they actual had him go up on stage and throw pizzas with goofy!!! I wish I could have seen it. He called the other kids to come and watch but we missed it. The massage was worth it!

Our second stop was Palermo Sicily. YUKKY!!! I have never seen such a dirty, graffiti, pick pocket capital of the world. We first stop was a summer castle, that was eventually turned into a poor home back to a castle and now just nothing. The grounds were not kept up ad it was just weird. After the castle we went to the catacombs. When we signed up for this excursion I thought this would be cool and in a weird, sick and morbid way it was. Nothing like 8,000 dead bodies hanging around and walking down narrow paths between them. It was weird. Some of the bodies were hundreds of years old. There was monks and nuns, babies and children, soldiers and don't forget the virgins. All of them still dressed in their very own clothes. Some still had hair and skin. It was weird. Their was also a two year old girl who died in 1920 of the Spanish fever. Her dad was so sad when she died that he had her basically taxidermy so he could always have her with him. She looks like she sleeping. Well, that was fun. The BEST part of Palermo is that they say it is were ice cream was first made so we went and got some real Italian Gelato. Oh my goodness was it ever the best ice cream I have ever had. I loved it and I don't really like ice cream.

The next day at our third stop was Naples and off to Pompeii. Adam saw a Scoobie Doo show on Pompeii so it was his personal goal to go there. Well, it was simply amazing!!! It is a city the was buried by ash in 79 AD. Mount Vesuvius erupted and the whole city was covered in ash and killed the ones that didn't get out in time. It was amazing how modern they were so many thousands of years ago. They had lead pipes that went into their homes, they said they found eye glasses and there were bakeries and think even fast food restaurants. They also found grape seeds and they planted them and they grew. Also, the people that didn't get out their bodies eventually disintegrated but it left a mold in the ash so the were able to pour plaster in them and they got to see what the people were like and what they were doing when they died. It was just amazing. Adam was not disappointed and now wants to live there. Also, Naples is were pizza was first made so of course we tried it and it was good!!!!

With our remodel getting closer to being finish we decided to have a small house warming party with family and friends. We had dinner and then we had some entertainment. Timo found this up and coming piano player, named Josh Wright. Since we love our new piano, we thought it would be fun to show it off. It was a lot of fun to have a private concert with someone who is so talented. He can move his fingers faster than anyone I have ever seen. He is really fun because his newest cd he has combined some classical songs with hymns and its amazing!!! He also has study Chopin so he played a couple of Chopin Etudes. Amazing!! I love Chopin and played live was the best!!! Adam loved when he played the theme to Mario Bros. It was a spectacular evening.

Oh, what a Year!!!

I realized I didn't write much this last year and I thought I would give a year in review.

January 2010 -
We rang in a new year at our casita. Lots of fun with live lobsters (didn't stay that way for long) and a new year jump in the pool!! Adam also discovered his love for playing bonco and Tylers lack of patience with Adam as his partner in bonco.

The remodel of our house officially began!!!

Abbi turned nine years old.

Tyler turned twelve and became a deacon in the priesthood.

February 2010 -
We had a big celebration for my dads 83rd birthday. Lots of family members came over to our house for a fun party to celebrate his life and what a great man he is. We all had lots to eat and lots of fun together. It makes you realize how bless you are to have a great family.

Timo and I celebrated his birthday and valentines down in St. George. It was a great get away!! We enjoyed walking through all the parade of homes and just enjoying some alone time.

Emili cut her foot really bad while we were gone and she survived and she has great scars for a boring story of how she stepped on the garbage sack and cut her foot on a can lid.

March 2010 -
Kids started swimming lessons.

We celebrated my birthday in style. I took the kids to the Mandarin for dinner and we ate anything we wanted. It was fun!!! Also, Emili made me a birthday cookie and it was awesome.

April 2010
Spring break was a long and fun trip to St. George. We watch General conference and played and played. We had a couple of friends over for BBQ (even thought it was kind of chilly still).
We also got to see friends dance in a competition or at least Abbi and I watched we are not sure if Emili watched the competition or just Jesse and Ben?

Timo was called to the High Council in our Stake.

Tyler registered for Jr. High. He can not be that old.

Emili turned fourteen.

May 2010 -

The remodel of the basement was completed!!! Very happy with the results.

June 2010 -

School out!!!

Bought a 2010 Toyota 4Runner. Woot Woot!!!!

Went to the cabin to watch the perseids meteor shower. Saw three cougars and lots of shooting stars.

Timo performed with the Mormon Youth choir once again!!! So much fun seeing him sing at the Tabernacle. The kids loved it!!!

Bought a Camper trailer!!!

A lot of doorbell ditching started. Sometimes with food. Even once with rice crispy treats that looked like raw meat. still it was very good.

Went to see New Moon at mid night with good friends!!

July 2010 -
Went camping up at Marsh Lake. Enjoyed the new camper (especially the bathroom and the heater at night) I won the State monopoly champ at monopoly!!! Sorry Timo!!

Bought two four wheelers.

August 2010 -

Enjoyed four wheelers at St. George were we could literally go from our garage to some pretty fun four wheeling spots. We really enjoyed going on the trails to behind SandHollow were we parked the four wheelers and did some jumping into the lake. We had an awesome time.

My niece Allison and her husband Nate decided to be sealed in the Temple. It was an amazing day. They looked so happy and Kaden was super cute. I was excited that they asked if the could have a luncheon at my house. It was just a great day!

School started. Emili 9th grade, Tyler 7th, Abbi 4th and Adam 3rd grade.

Adam turned eight!!! and was baptized. My baby grew up. It was an amazing day. I felt the spirit so strong at his baptism. He was so excited and it just turned out very special. I'm proud of him and the great boy he is turning into.

September 2010 -
What!!!!! our ward boundaries are changing!!! A very big surprise came when our street was moved into another ward. Lots of mixed emotions came with that news. I loved my calling as a nursery teacher. I loved the kids and working with Allie. There are a lot of amazing people in the ward that I was really going to miss but I was going back to my original ward that I moved into plus a few extras and absolutely loved that ward. I was called as the second councilor in the primary and I have really enjoyed it. It has taken me totally out of my comfort zone but its good. This has been a great blessing to our family!

Thriller in St. George with Abbi, Emili and all her friends. Thriller was fun and I think everyone enjoyed it. Won't do it again but all good.

All a blur, lots of stress.

A very fun Thanksgiving. Brad and I finally got a bonco!!!

December -
Stress, stress, stress, stress, stress and some more stress!!!

Timo sold what!!! That's right, his company! A spectacular accomplishment. 18 years he raised his baby and it was time to let it go. SS&C is the new owner. The timing was perfect and it was the right situation for the company. Timo is the best business man ever!!!!

Christmas was a super fun this year. All the kids were happy and everything went very well, except for the fact we ate dinner at IHOP!! YUK YUK!!! but what a fun memory.

Snowmobiling at the cabin ended the year. We got two feet of snow while we were there and had a marvelous time being together as a family and once a gain Adam fell and could have gotten stitches but Timo fixed him up without stitches.

I am sure I have missed some of the many other fun times but that's all right.

What an amazing 2010. I am so blessed. I think I spent more time together as a family this year and I loved it. I really feel so blessed to have a Great husband and kids. They are everything to me.
